What Do You Love and Hate Most about your Horse

Posted by saraharea6rep@btinternet.com on January 19, 2010 at 12:47 PM

What I love most about Sassy is the way she instantly relaxes whenever we stop to talk to someone.   She loves people talking, her head drops and she just listens and chills.   I reckon she is an ideal pub horse but we have not quite managed this yet, maybe this year?

And what I hate most - that she will not be turned out alone even for a minute, without getting completely hysterical.    She has a real fear of it  and winds herself up into a complete frenzy and that is why she got badly injured 2 years ago.   I am just grateful that she accepts our sheep as companions which makes life easier than always having to have another horse around.

Now there 's a Q , Seti like Sassy loves to stop and have a chat but i suppose i love that when ever he hears me he whinnys , what however drives me mad is that he has taken to chewing up my electrical fence ( when he knows its not on ). Lucky pony walks through fences( thats rather irritating ) but he will take him self off into his stable ( this is helpful particulary when its time to come in & its raining ) and Skips , well what can i say, He has always looked after me home & away and i don't think theres anything about this horse i've ever disliked the most irritating thing has been he's had injury after injury and illness after illness but he's still here , now 24.

What I love most about Scout is his natural ability to deliver wonderful athletic lead changes without my having to participate in the activity over-much! Which is good, as I am terrible at counting and can get myself in a muddle so very easily.
What I dislike most is his suspicion that I am but a mobile and very crunchy carrot disguised as a human!

First the QHs...
Dee - love the way she always tries to do what I want, even if I'm confusing her and she's not been right physically, and her wonderful laidback attitude. Nothing I hate about her as she's truly my horse of a lifetime, but I do hate that her penchant for the good life has nearly been her ruination.
Heart - love her affectionate nature and the way she's coped with two major operations and lots of box rest. Don't like her sometimes stroppy dominant attitude!
Buddy - love his sense of humour when he pretends that he just doesn't understand what hubby wants, hate his stressy separation anxiety caused by being an only horse for too long.
And the welshies...
Pasg - love his boldness and bravery, hate the way he jogs home.
Jack - love his laid back calmness, nothing to dislike about him at all.
Bertie - love his intelligence and speed of learning, dislike his low boredom threshold which leads to mischief.

Daffy Appy is a great horse in so many ways but I hate the way he puts his ears back when he is eating & anyone comes near. In his defence he was teased with food in a past life, He's a lot better now but at his time of life, he's not going to let this one go, sigh.

I love Charlies cheeky attitude, he is usually planning something. I also like how enjoys life, espcially going fast.

I hate the way he usually embarasess me at a show by having to stop to do a BIG poo in a class!!!!!!!
